The Church of the Brethren‘s Office of Ministry is sponsoring a Young Adult Forum titled “A Theological Conversation on Ministry.” The forum is an effort to include young adult scholars, theologians, pastors, and leaders in discussions of the shape of ministerial leadership in the Church of the Brethren. It will bring together Brethren young adults from across the country to worship, fellowship, and engage in theological discussion about questions of ministry in the Anabaptist/Pietist tradition. The forum will take place Dec. 15-17 2008 at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, Ariz.

Those of us who are working hard to plan the forum hope that this site will become a place where our conversations can spill over into the digital realm in the interest of expanding the conversation beyond the time and place of the forum itself. We hope it will become a place for sharing thoughts, resources, stories, and insights as we all seek to participate in God’s work in this world. Please feel free to join in the conversation by posting in the comments sections. If you’re interested in becoming a contributor, please contact the site administrator.

The title of this site carries a twofold meaning: it is both a nod to the nature of the Kingdom of God that Jesus Christ proclaimed and also a reflection of the state of young adults in the church who are already engaged in ministry and leadership and are continuing to emerge as the future of the church.
